IMM hosted the 31st World Marketing Congress on the theme "CIS-East Europe & India : Synergies & Economic Cooperation" at The Park Hotel, Parliament Street, New Delhi during February 3-5,2004. The Congress was inaugurated by Hon'ble Dr. Sahib Singh Verma, Union Labour Minister. The Inaugural Session was graced by Hon'ble Shri L.K. Advani, Diputy Prime Minister of India; Hon'ble Shri Vijay Kapoor, Lt. Governor of Delhi; Hon'ble Dr. Najma Heptullah, Dy. Chairperson of Rajya Sabha Hon'ble Dr. A.R. Kidwai, M.P., Rajya Sabha & National President, IMM. Dr. Gaganjit Singh, Director General, IMM delivered the Welcome Address. Mr. J.N. Dixit, former Foreign Secretary of India and Chairman of the World Marketing Congress, Introduced the theme of the Congress. Mr. Rajiv Sikri, Special Secretary (ER), Ministry of External Affairs, Delivered the Keynote Address and Dr. Jagjit Singh Executive President, IMM & Congress Convenor, proposed the Vote of Thanks at the lnaugural Session.

Representatives from chambers of commerce, top companies, banks, professionals, academicians, entrepreneurs, MBA students, media persons & so on also participated in the event.

Dr. Jagjit Singh presented the conclusions and recommendations of the Congress.

The theme for the 32nd World Marketing Congress was also announced which has been slated for January 23-25, 2005 on "Marketing of Human Resource: Worldwide" at the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.
