IMM hosted the 32nd World Marketing Congress on the theme "Marketing of Human Resource : Worldwide" at the India Habitat Centre Auditorium, New Delhi during January 29-31, 2005. The Congress was inaugurated by Hon'ble Dr. A.R. Kidwai, Governor of Haryana & National President of IMM. Hon'ble Shri H.R. Bhardwaj, Union Minister for Law & Justice was the Chief Guest & Hon'ble Dr. A.R. Kidwai was the Guest of Honour at the Valedictory Session. Hon'ble Shri Babulal Gaur, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh & Hon'ble Shri K.R. Narayanan, former President of India, delivered Special Addresses at the Congress.

At the Inaugual Session, Dr. Gaganjit Singh, Director General, IMM, delivered the Welcome Address; Mr. B.P. Singh, IAS (Retd.), former Home Secretary & Chairman of the Steering Committee, introduced the Congress; Prof. K.K. Uppal of University Business School, Panjab University gave Felicitations; speech of Hon'ble Shri Arjun Singh , Union Minister for HRD, was read out by Prof. V.N. Rajasekharan Pillai, Vice Chairman, University Grants Commission & Co-Chairman of the Steering Committee & Dr. Jagjit Singh, Executive President, IMM & Congress Convenor, proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The Congress was financially supported by the All India Council for Technical Education, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, JK Tyres, Punjab National Bank & Shahnaz Husain. It was endorsed by UNCTAD, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, World Marketing Association, Japan Marketing Association, Marketing Association of Thailand, Indian Merchants' Chamber, University of London and Ministries of HRD, Home Affairs, External Affairs and Commerce & Industry had given their NOCs. Indian Airlines was the National Carrier.

Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Romania, Afghanistan, Egypt, Tunisia, USA, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Sudan, Philippines, Tanzania, Namibia, Mozabique, Zimbabwe, Trinidad & Togabo, Croatia, Bhutan and Bosnia; different officials from the Ministries of External Affairs, Science and Technology, Commerce & Industry, HRD, Law & Justice, Planning Commission; representatives from various States such as Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Mizoram, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar, Goa, Kerala, Meghalaya and Nagaland; Representatives from Chambers of Commerce, top companies, banks, professionals, academicians, entrepreneurs, MBA students, media persons & so on also participated in the Event.

The theme for the 33rd World Marketing Congress was also announced which has been slated for January 20-22, 2006 on
" The South Asian Market: Its Challenges and Opportunities " at the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.
